Ms. Angela Maria Gidaro

Angela Maria Gidaro was born in Rome on 15 July 1976, from a family of doctors and surgeons.She began studying piano at the age of six. After graduating from Classical Humanistic high school, in June 1987 she graduated with honors in piano at the Conservatory of Music of Florence. The same summer she participated in a Piano Master Class with Maestro Franco Scala with whom she continued, for a few years, a course of improvement of the piano study at Imola.

In 2003 she graduated with honors in Musical Aesthetics at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Bologna Alma Mater.

In 2004 she began working at the Imola Piano Academy with transversal assignments that led her to develop, over the years, the role of first Assitent of the Director Franco Scala, his teacher and mentor. Within the Imola Academy, an institution in which she has worked continuously from 2004, she set his professional challenge for the consolidation and innovation of cultural management in the international musical education system. In 2012 the Imola Academy gave her the role of Artistic Director, and in 2017 the role of General Secretary. In September 2019, she becomes the CEO of the new Imola Academy Foundation, working alongside the Director Maestro Franco Scala and the President Corrado Passera.

In 2015 she obtained a Master in Business Administration MBA for Professional from the Bologna Business School. She is the creator and curator of the ‘Imola Summer Piano Academy and Festival’, born in 2012 as an innovative format for the development of international projects.

At the Imola Academy, she is the “technical” interlocutor with the Commission set up by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Education, to obtain the Decree of equivalence of University degrees awarded by Imola Academy. The Decree was issued on 1 March 2019.

In 2018 she was elected Deputy President of the AIFORART Association, born inside of the AGIS, (Italian National Entertainment Agency based in Rome), where she coordinates, together with the Bureau, the table of national schools of excellence in music, theater and dance.

She has been living in Imola since 2000, is married to Salvatore and has three children: Giacomo, Stefania and Alessia.
