COURSE TYPES:
Advanced Instrumental Courses
The Advanced Training Courses in Chamber Music are designed for instrumental and vocal ensembles, with or without piano, and are structured according to the students’ age.

Multi-Year Course: up to the completion of the 23rd year on average of the members of the chamber group

Post-Diploma Course: reserved for students who have obtained a Diploma from the Accademia di Imola
Bachelor’s Degree (L-3) and Master’s Degree (LM-45)
If the chamber group intends to enroll in one of the two Degree Programs, please consult the overall curriculum in the Degrees section of the website. The Chamber Music Prassi exam programs are equivalent to the passage exams of the Three-Year Advanced Course, with programs defined in collaboration with the teachers.
1. Multi-Year Course
This course requires a pre-existing ensemble; individual applicants are not accepted. The course runs from October to June and includes 18 hours of lessons per year per ensemble (9 sessions of 2 hours each).
Annual Fee: €1,800, divided as follows:

Duo: €900 per person

Trio: €600 per person

Quartet: €450 per person

Quintet: €360 per person
2. Three-Year Course
The course lasts three years, at the end of which students can take the final exam to obtain the Academic Diploma in Chamber Music. At the end of each academic year, it is mandatory to pass the passage exam with the following programs:
From Year I to II

A concert program lasting 40–50 minutes.
From Year II to III
-
A concert program lasting 40–50 minutes.
Final Diploma Exam

A concert program lasting 60–75 minutes.
Note: Pieces previously performed in earlier exams may be included in the Diploma program, but no more than one-third of the total duration.

Duo: 32 total hours per year per ensemble

Trio/Quartet/Quintet: 48 total hours per year per ensemble

The curriculum for each year includes preparation of a concert program and mandatory participation in any masterclasses held by guest masters. The Advanced Instrumental Course also accommodates the formation of new ensembles necessary for the academic program for students whose individual study plans require one or two specific exams.
ADMISSION EXAM – Multi-Year and Three-Year Courses
The admission exam consists of an audition of approximately 30 minutes, which must include the performance of a significant work from the ensemble’s repertoire, or selected movements from two different works differing in style and repertoire.

Note: Candidates wishing to apply individually without a pre-formed ensemble must contact the Academic Office, which will forward the request to the Academy Director. This applies to both the Three-Year Advanced Course and the Degree Programs.
3. Senior Course
Dedicated to professional musicians who wish to attend lessons in a flexible format tailored to their individual needs, focusing on continuous engagement for ongoing development. There are no age limits; admission requires an interview with the Academy Director, along with the submission of the applicants’ curriculum vitae and the repertoire they intend to study. Students must attend with pre-formed chamber ensembles; individual attendance is not permitted.

Ensembles attending more than 10 hours may be considered for concert programming by the Foundation.

4. Post-Diploma Course
The Post-Diploma Course includes 24 hours of lessons per ensemble. No admission exam is required.
