The Teachers

The Viola Advanced Course is a Triennial course, for those who want to make an individual musical progress on technique, linked to chamber music; for this reason there will be a collaboration with other instrument classes, string and Piano. The course addresses to young violists, graduated or not.
There will be individual lessons with the main teacher and with one or more world famous guest teachers, and many occasions of  performances, on site and public, in solo and chamber concerts.

LESSONS/ATTENDANCE
Individual or group lessons usually take place between October-June.
A minimum of 35 hours of lessons per year is granted to every student, and lessons will be spread in a balanced way during the academic year .
The Course is made of 4 meetings each month, with a total of 4 hours.
Every applicant who has passed the Admission exam will schedule his lessons with the Teacher .
There will be a collaboration with Maestro Margherita Fanton, as assistant, and with Maestro Danilo Rossi, who will hold 2 masterclasses, at the beginning and the end of the Course.
Applicants must commit on attending the Course entirely when signing up, as holding a place in a class means that another applicant will be left out.
Exceptions:
– Applicants who wish to have more hours of lessons may choose the Intensive Course formula when signing up, which includes 40 hours a year (5 hours a month).
– In exceptional cases, applicants can ask to attend Half Course, made of 15 hours a month. In both cases exception is made only under the agreement of Teacher.

The study plan includes the study of repertoire in order to get ready for competitions and auditions every year. At the beginning of the Course a detailed work plan will be scheduled, which is likely to be changed under the teacher’s approval; it will include public performing, concerts and technique tests.
Two exams are scheduled each year: a technique test in winter and a final exam in June or September.
The program of the exams will be decided by the students together with the teachers during the schoolyear, and it must go along the level achieved.
The Course includes some performances, both in public and in class, and its repertoire will be decided each time upon the educational path of each student.

In-Class performing is planned by the teachers, at least one performance a month, half of them are mandatory, which means 4 in a year.
Performances may be audio and video recorded. The recordings are available for the students.
