Success for Academy students at the prestigious Premio Venezia

The 40th edition of the prestigious National Piano Competition ‘Premio Venezia’ ended with an important award for a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Imola: Carlo Solinas ranked second following the evaluation of the technical and popular jury of the Amici della Fenice. Born in Sarzana in 2000, Solinas is currently a student of Leonid Margarius at the Accademia Pianistica di Imola.

The Premio Venezia and the Teatro La Fenice keeps on giving students of the Accademia di Imola satisfaction: on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 October there will be a concert by the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice, conducted by Juanjo Mena, with the pianist Nicolò Cafaro, winner of the 38th edition of the Premio Venezia. The evening programme includes Sergej Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor op. 30 and Witold Lutosławski’s Concerto for Orchestra. The premiere will be broadcast live on Rai Radio3 on Friday 18 October at 8 p.m..

Nicolò Cafaro, born in 2000, has constantly been followed by Leonid Margarius too, since he was aged twelve. Since 2017, he has been attending the Advanced Courses held by the maestro at the Accademia Internazionale di Imola.

With Carlo Solinas being awarded, the victories at the National Piano Competition ‘Premio Venezia’, dedicated to the best Italian graduates, increase. In the Imola ‘alumni’ community, among the past editions winners of the Prize we can find Olaf Laneri, Maurizio Baglini, Lorenzo Di Bella, Roberto Prosseda, Andrea Bacchetti, Giuseppe Albanese, Mariangela Vacatello, Alessandro Taverna (Casella Prize), Fiorenzo Pascalucci, Sebastian Di Bin, Michele Sampaolesi, Leonora Armellini, Mirco Ceci, Antonio Di Dedda, Giulia Rossini, Paolo Cremonte, Luca Trabucco, Alberto Nosè, Alì Hireche, Vincenzo Maltempo, Alessandro Marchetti and Nicolò Cafaro.
